[It was supposed to be simple. Write a little extra time to spend with Hiro into her book with the magic ink, and then once that was over, just go straight home. But as it turns out, when Yona starts thinking about going home, she gets distracted thinking about a carnival Hiro had told her about.
...
When she next opens her eyes, she's on a Ferris wheel, seated across from a boy she doesn't recognize. Apparently, the distraction when thinking about her destination has resulted in some crossed wires. She stares blankly at him for a moment, then glance out the window at their surroundings.
Below them, there's a carnival. But the carnival is entirely encased by walls that stretch up higher than the Ferris wheel itself, and she doesn't actually see any entrances or exits.]
[ Honestly, sometimes, Joshua makes slight mistakes in trajectory when he wants to piss off Hanekoma into playing fetch quest with him, and that's how he wound up here. He's been entertaining himself fine with the cursed carnival, as a nice break from Shibuya that doesn't involve being murdered on an island.
But he doesn't expect to see Yona appear before him. His eyes widen slightly at her appearance, but in the end all he does is smirk. Well. This might be entertaining. He wonders if it's the same Yona he knows? Alternate worlds and all that. ]
Wow, you're sharp on the uptake. [ this is obviously sarcastic. he's. an asshole. ] Hello there, Princess.
[ that's one way to figure out whether she knows him or not ]
[This Yona recognizes sarcasm, because she spent a solid year with Hiro, and Hiro is a little shit. So she shoots Josh a disgruntled look and crosses her arms instead of greeting him with a smile.]
I don't remember asking your opinion.
[...but she does have to ask--]
Who are you, and where are we? If this is the start of another "fight until the last person standing and hope your partner doesn't die too" game I'm not interested.
[ joshua doesn't lose the grin, though his stare turns weighed. interesting. a yona that went through a similar game than the one he knew, but obviously not the same one, if she didn't remember him.
(similar to his own Game too, but he's complained about copyright enough.)
he shrugs ]
Hmmm... For the purpose of this visit, let's say a friend. My name is Joshua. And this [ he gestures around them ] is the Void Carnival. Most people who visit here are trapped to enjoy its festivities for eternity, though I wouldn't worry too much about that, since you dropped in of your own volition.
I think I'd remember making a friend as pretty as you, but okay.
[SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE. Yona's moving right along from that, though, because she doesn't any problems with stating objective facts. More to the point... she takes another look out the window at the carnival before her gaze wanders back to Joshua.]
--hold on a minute, is this your carnival? I wasn't exactly trying to get here, you know. It was mostly an accident.
